Jovan Đorđević (1826–1900) was born in Senta.

Besides he is the founder of the Serbian National Theatre both in Novi Sad and Belgrade, he is the writer of the Serbian Anthem. The bust on the May-fly Promenade is work of sculptor László Szilágyi.
